Going Guru or Guru of Gramercy

it’s going to be Ohmmmmkkkkay!

Gabriel Falco created and wrote Going Guru he just finished the sizzle reel for a sitcom for that people have nicknamed Guru of Gramercy.

Gabriel wrote a similar project in 2007 called Greener Grass. Pitched in two lines   “Welcome to Greener Grass, a karmic cleansing café and yoga studio. If you’re here, you’re probably in crisis but a transformation for the super-positive is close at hand.” The project was optioned.

Gabriel continues to work as a real estate advisor on high-end transactions.

Can someone achieve enlightenment while living in NYC? Through sometimes much larger than life scenarios reality styled episodes convey that humor has evolved to add perspective and we are all connected. The episodes depict how important being joined with the universe is and how it can produce incredible success.

When life gets rough the spiritual get touched. When faced with a “life challenge”, Going guru seemed like the most obvious choice for Gabriel who had threatened a Himalayan monastic stint for years. But, the Himalayas are replaced with a live-work space in Gramercy.  Why NYC?… The sutras say, “One doesn’t have to go to the top of the mountain to find enlightenment” or was that Suzuki or the Buddha, or did anyone but Gabriel say that?  Divorcing with two young children and a “surprise” baby on the way, this loveable artist at heart character always finds a way to do good and makes us laugh at how unproductive, futile and plain silly a closed mind can be. Will he achieve enlightenment or even keep the lights on?  Will the 27-year age gap between Gabriel and his girlfriend Gabriella be too challenging? Will pregnant Gabriella be able handle attending grad school and delivering a baby? Are these characters real? When will we know?

Episodes reveal that everything will be ok just not the way you might think. Through some extraordinarily unconventional and preposterously funny scenarios we discover incongruences are funny. Gabriel now calling himself a GIT (Guru In Training), has been practicing yoga since 1987 but can’t always touch his toes, he says he believes in the sacred deep spiritual connection between people especially between men an women but has issues with intimacy.  Meditation? … And for how long and what is meditation supposed to be anyway? Sex or celibacy, meat, fish or vegetarian? What is a Guru to do and how does one ever become a Guru?

Gabriel Falco was born and lives in New York City, has had two successful careers in the media sector and real estate sectors. He is a father and a strong advocate of childrens’ and fathers’ rights.

Gabriel founded Daybreak Films NYC & LA where he assembled a team of creative and production professionals and was executive producer and director of TV commercials. In 1998 he was one of the founding team members and director of business development of iHamptons.com where he structured online real estate advertising. Gabriel then worked in business development for Lorne Michaels during the acquisition of college TV network “Burley Bear.” Gabriel created a VOIP telecom/social media online application that was noticed by Zefer Consulting NYC who recruited him as director of design and development for the media and telecom sectors. As the dot com and media sectors imploded in 2001, Gabriel – a long time Hamptons weekender – founded Falco Home Services, a high end residential maintenance company. The next year he recruited two foremen and opened Falco Residential Design and Construction, a company that built high-end houses in the Hamptons, where he continued until 2008 when he sold the businesses.

In 2009 Gabriel began working as a real estate sales agent for Corcoran Bridgehampton, and within his first year was agent on the most expensive August to Labor Day rental in Hamptons history.

Using his experience in the creative, client relations, project management and development areas, in 2013 amongst other sales, Gabriel packaged and sold one waterfront property and one high end South of the Highway home in the Hamptons. Both of these buyers decided to hire him as project manager. On these projects Gabriel presented choices and was responsible for hiring all personnel from the architect to the floor finishers. Both homes are now published.

Gabriel’s creative interests range from real estate to video program creation. In 2014 Gabriel free-lanced on two projects for CBS Eco Media. Gabriel continues to pursue his creative ambitions and works as an advisor in real estate on high-end sales and development deals. After the nine figure sale of a Hamptons property with only and advisor and no brokerage, real estate advisors are finding more  demand for their services in the high end of the market.
